Area Manager – Leisure & Hospitality
Location – Essex / London
Salary – £50,000–£60,000
Ready to put your leadership skills into top gear? I am looking for an energetic Area Manager to oversee a growing portfolio of busy leisure and hospitality venues across Essex and London.
This is a high-impact role for someone who enjoys developing managers, improving performance and creating consistently brilliant guest experiences.
The role
- Lead, coach and develop General Managers, Assistant Managers and Heads of Department.
- Oversee multiple venues, with the portfolio expected to grow.
- Set clear performance plans, KPIs and development objectives.
- Deliver regular reviews, coaching and one-to-one support.
- Maintain high operational, service and safety standards.
- Roll out training, new initiatives and process improvements.
- Drive commercial growth across memberships, food and beverage and retail.
- Monitor site visits, team engagement and operational consistency.
- Manage rotas, wage control and complex people matters.
- Support guest feedback, service recovery and escalated issues.
- Help oversee alternative education programmes and instructor performance.
About you
- Proven multi-site leadership experience in leisure, hospitality, retail or a similar customer-focused environment.
- A confident people leader who develops and motivates managers.
- Strong commercial awareness and a focus on consistent results.
- High standards, excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach.
- Passionate about service, team engagement and operational excellence.
- Comfortable travelling across Essex and London.
