This role is perfect for an experienced Assistant Accountant ready to step up, or a Management Accountant seeking a fresh challenge. You’ll take ownership of core management accounting duties, support system improvements, and play a key role in a collaborative finance team.

Our client is the UK division of a global engineering and technology group with a head office in Telford and operations nationwide. They design and supply specialist equipment used across industries such as food, pharma, chemicals, semiconductors, plastics, and metallurgy, while also providing servicing, repairs, and upgrades.

Description
- Prepare and review monthly management accounts
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations and journals
- Manage accruals, prepayments, and expenses
- Oversee cash flow forecasting and reporting
- Produce VAT returns and ensure compliance
- Analyse financial data to support business decisions
- Assist with ERP system implementation (SAP S/4Hana)
- Support ad hoc projects and continuous improvement initiatives
- Partner with colleagues across finance and the wider business
Profile
- Experienced in balance sheet work, reconciliations, accruals, and VAT
- Strong Excel skills for reporting and data manipulation
- ERP system experience (SAP highly desirable)
- Qualified, part-qualified (ACCA, CIMA, ACA), or QBE
- Proven ability to take ownership and work independently
- Stable career background with consistent roles (no frequent job moves)
- Proactive, team-oriented, and keen to support colleagues
- Confident communicator with a positive attitude
Job Offer
- Salary £30,000 – £35,000 depending on experience
- Full-time, onsite role in Telford with flexible core hours (9-4)
