Our client is looking to add a Corporate & Commercial Legal Counsel in to their growing in house legal team.

Our client is a well-established organisation within the Energy & Natural Resources industry. They play a significant role in their sector and are known for fostering an inclusive and professional working environment.

Description

  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a variety of commercial agreements, including construction documents (e.g., NEC, JCT), with additional training and support available where needed
  • Providing legal advice on commercial agreements, procurement regulations, contractual disputes, and property litigation, with opportunities to deepen expertise in these areas
  • Developing a working understanding of the Company’s regulatory framework and applying this knowledge in day-to-day legal work
  • Providing timely and accurate legal advice to internal teams across various departments
  • Communicating and negotiating with external parties, managing matters appropriate to level of experience and escalating where necessary
  • Supporting the Company’s compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to address legal concerns while ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations
  • Applying effective risk management techniques and offering proactive advice on possible legal issues
  • Conducting work with integrity and responsibility’s
  • Maintaining current knowledge of changes in legislation
  • Complying with the Company’s policies in the carrying out of all duties
  • Meeting individual performance targets as set and agreed from year to year

Profile

A successful Legal Counsel should have:

  • UK/IRE Qualified with a minimum of at least 1-3 years PQE.
  • Broad Corporate/Commercial law background
  • Good understanding of Construction contracts (NEC & JCT)
  • Excellent client care and communication skills.
  • To be able to work autonomously and to produce high quality work.
  • Excellent time management skills with strong prioritisation skills and ability to effectively manage your own workload.

Job Offer

  • A salary of £65,000 to £70,000 per annum DOE
  • Performance related bonus

  • Retirement Savings Plan (pension): 5% employee contribution, with company doubling your contribution at 10% – totalling 15%
